Hello I have a computer that is as follows cpu intel Core 2 duo E7300 2.66 GHz Wolfdale 45 nm technology.
      Ram. 4,00GB Dual-Channel DDr2 399MHZ (6-6-6-18).
      Motherboard. Gigabyte EP45-DS3 (Socket 775).
      Graphics. Ati Radeon HD 4850.

Well the problem is that the graphics card is broken I can work with it if I have the drivers disabled and even then I have thick red lines on the screen, if I enable the drivers I get a blue screen and it freezes.
With this computer what can I improve since I'm going to spend money, I would like a graphics card that can handle the new games that are coming out and if the rest still works for me, or what I would have to change, and if possible that the prices don't skyrocket.
I need your advice, Thank you.

        Hello,

I would change the equipment directly, you can still get some euros from second-hand parts, but if you don't want to bother and play almost everything new (but lowering the quality in the details, of course), you can always go to the second-hand market, from a 5850 to a 6950 or similar, which you can more or less hold up well with a little OC, but the thing is that you change the whole equipment, because new games increasingly demand more performance, and the graphics are improving a lot precisely for that. In addition, you will need more RAM.

Thanks for replying so quickly Sylver, could you advise me what you would buy, as if you had to buy it for yourself and at the same time not have the price skyrocket, by the way there is nothing I can use from this equipment, Thanks again.

Saludos

There's not much to be gained by upgrading to a new system, aside from the hard drives.
However, you could opt for a basic graphics card (a GT 730 for example) and use the system to build an HTPC.

Regarding a new system, what kind of budget are we talking about?

Thanks, for the answer but the car could take advantage of something I have the case is a large Tracens Prior.
I have two 500GB Seagate sata hard drives.
the power supply is a Nox 650W.
and I don't know if the cooler that is a FreezerXtreme will work for me.
by the way where do you get those prices I usually buy at??box and what a difference in prices the stores here double the price you mark how is that possible.
that of taking advantage for an HTPC is an excellent idea and the budget I was thinking about 700, 800 €. Thanks

That cooler, if it is the Artic Freezer Xtreme rev.2, is supposed to be reusable with the 1150 platform, and that way you could save about 50€ on a new cooler. The same goes for the hard drives, you can use them directly.

That power supply is not entirely bad, but if it is already out of warranty I wouldn't trust it much. What is its real power? A picture of the sticker would help us.

The case is not very cool, but well, it can serve, if it already fits that cooler which is always the most problematic, go ahead with it.

I wouldn't rule out the option of selling what you have. You can still get about 100€ with luck and that way the new equipment would come out cheaper, but if you can give it a second life, go ahead. The problem is that then you would need to buy all the previously mentioned components new and you would save nothing, you would have an additional expense, which is the graphics card to convert your old equipment into an HTPC.

The prices are from PCcomponentes, where are you from?

                  Regards

Well gentlemen, I went to the store with your budget and after talking to the salesman he advised me the following.
                      Intel Core i5 4590 3.3 GHZ SK1150 6MB 84W Haswell
Cooler AM2/AM3/775/1155/1366 Tacens Gelus Lite III
                      Motherboard Intel Core i3/i5/i7 ASUS H97M PLUS SK1150 DDR3 PCX3.0 M-ATX HDMI USB3.0
                      Memory 8gb DDR3 1600 kINSTON hYPERX fYRY bLUE CL10
Power supply 800W Tacens Radix VII AG 14CM PFC80+Silver
                      Hard drive 250GB Crucial SSD Sata3 BX100 7MM
                      Graphics card 2GB Gigabyte GTX960 PCX3.0 DDR5 Mini-ITX HDMI
He said that taking advantage of the rest this would come out cheaper with the same performance and this would come out at 797€
According to him this equipment would be ready to play all the games that are out and that will come out, because my son is a gamer.
What do you think, I would appreciate your opinion. Thank you.

He told you about playing all the games that are out and coming out, omitting that you'll have to downgrade all the details, right? Because with 2Gb of Vram you won't be able to run almost anything of the current ones at full... Nowadays, for gaming, I wouldn't go below 4Gb of graphics, games are getting more and more demanding, and even 4Gb will soon be insufficient. Apart from that, it's not bad. I would change that power supply for something from Corsair mid-to-high range, OCZ or Seasonic, which are synonymous with quality and performance. I wouldn't rule out the option of PCcomponentes or some other similar online store, which can assemble and test the components and send them to your home, maybe it could even be cheaper for you. Best regards

It seems to me that a good seller would assure that "it will work for all the games that exist and that will come out", especially by mounting a 2 GB graphics card in a set without the possibility of upgrading it. This would refer to browser games.

The team proposed by Sylver is what is usually recommended, and believe me that it is a very balanced configuration and that if necessary you can squeeze it with some OC, which improves its amortization.
If it is due to distrust of buying on the internet, in my case this team I bought it by pieces and they assembled it for me, and the truth is that I am very satisfied.

In any case, the decision is yours
