Network card for laptop
-
Hello everyone in advance.
I have an HP Compaq laptop that is already somewhat old. Also at home I have 100Mb of fiber optics.
The thing is that when I use the wi-fi I don't reach 100Mb even remotely, because I did a speed test and it doesn't reach. However the desktop that is by cable reaches more than enough to 100Mb.I attach a photo of the label of the wireless network card. Since I don't know if it's worth buying a better one for this laptop and if in the case that it's worth it where I can buy it and which one would be suitable. Since I was looking around and I'm afraid that if it doesn't fit in the bay where the current one is located or that the purchase page is a scam.

With Wifi it will be very difficult for you to reach 100Mbps but you can try if the router allows it.
Your card is an Atheros AR5007 AR5BXB63 with support for the 802.11b, 802.11g standards, so if you put one with support for 802.11n you will notice a big difference.
Any Mini PCI-E card should work for you like this or any other. Its price is around 25€ new.

Just in case you're interested, I have a few at home, mini PCIe, they are Intel 2230GB, they are Wifi N and BT. And if anyone else is interested, I have 4 (they were sent by mistake and they didn't come back for them…)
