Hello everyone,
I haven't written in thousands of years, and I've decided to get back into the hardware game.
I'm not sure if this is the most appropriate branch, but if it's not, let the administrator move it wherever they see fit.
Well, to the point. I've bought a Lenovo G50-70 laptop, which comes well loaded with 16 Gb of RAM and 1Tb of hard drive, as well as an i7 (nothing special, but the reality is that it runs well). The problem is that I've been working with Mac for a while, and I also have some iMacs at work, as well as a macbook pro. And I have to say that the difference with the monitor is abysmal, and I notice it a lot. It's like having a flat screen TV and then going to the Thomsom room from the 80s...
I've consulted with a distributor here, but of course, besides taking them an eternity to reply, they only offer the Lenovo monitors that are in the range. Mine is HD, but there's another FullHD version, but I fear that the quality will be similar.
I see a lot of people selling LED monitors around here, even IPS FullHD ones, and they differentiate between 30 and 40 pin connectors, but the truth is that I have no idea how this works. Is there any way to know which panel can work on my laptop? Are they all the same or does each manufacturer make the necessary modifications so that only theirs work?
Let's see if there's a guru around here who can enlighten me.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Best regards.
