Overclocking Phenom II - my memory is limiting me and I can't lower the frequency without multiplier
-
Hello, I have a problem with the memory frequency on my M4a78 Pro motherboard, with DDR2 667mhz and 800mhz modules,
the issue is that the motherboard only gives me three options because it doesn't have a multiplier as such, it gives you 3 frequencies already recalculated on-site, with the frequency you have put into the FSB, these would be initially 333, 400 and 533 with the FSB at 200. The problem is that I can't lower it anymore (it is supposed that DDR2 also had 200mhz and 266mhz),
and I want to know if I have an option through the BIOS to switch from frequencies to multipliers, or any BIOS option with which to lower the memory frequencies in some way, because I have them at 333mhz, which with the overclocking they get to almost 400mhz, which x 2, are 800mhz, which the DDR667 can't handle and cause screen freezes and overheating,
I can increase the processor more (and lower the HT and NB), but the memories limit me, for the moment I am waiting for some DDR2 800 modules and heatsinks, but there will come a time when they will limit me just the same if I can't have access to a multiplier lower than 333, any ideas?regards and thanks
