Asus card compatibility
-
Hello everyone, I hope someone can help me, I currently have an Asus Radeon R9 290X DirectCU II OC 4GB GDDR5 card and I would like to do a Crosfire, the problem is that I can't find a card that is the same, it seems that they have been discontinued. The card that I can find is the Asus Radeon R9 290X DirectCU II 4GB GDDR5, which is the one that doesn't have OC. In principle, I believe that they must be compatible, can anyone assure me? I don't want to buy a graphics card and for something like this not to be compatible with it. Thank you

…like when I was looking for something, I asked my mother and the thing in question appeared out of nowhere. :wall:

Si,pero no me fio de comprar una grafica de segunda mano,y nueva sale que esta agotada.Por eso preguntaba si la version OC y la version normal de la misma tarjeta son compatibles para un crosfire,no vaya a ser que una me cape a la otra.
Gracias!

Yes, but I don't trust buying a second-hand graphics card, and the new one is sold out. That's why I was asking if the OC version and the normal version of the same card are compatible for a crosfire, so that one doesn't outpace the other.
They are refurbished products by Amazon, so it shouldn't have more than 30 days... your graphics card probably has more use ;D.
Besides, if you're not convinced, you can return it and they'll refund the full purchase amount... that's the good thing about Amazon, as they don't put any conditions.
If you're still not convinced, well, no, both graphics cards won't run at full speed if you put a R9 290X DirectCU II … the only option is to get the BIOS from the R9 290X DirectCU II OC and put it on the R9 290X DirectCU II… in theory, they are physically the same and only the VBios changes from one to the other.
You only need 5 minutes and a DOS bootable disk with the ATIFlash 2.71.
There are hundreds of manuals, guides, and video tutorials, so just search on Google ;D

I didn't know that you could do that with the bios, so I think it's going to be my option because I don't think it's very complicated, thank you very much again!
