Overclocking on non-K processors
-
Many will know, others not, recently the leading companies in motherboard manufacturing have launched UNOFFICIALLY some very particular BIOS, these promised to unlock the full potential of overclocking that Skylake processors have in their non-K version, that is, the rest of the CPUs leaving aside the i5 6600K and i7 6700K.
This is undoubtedly more than interesting for the world of overclocking, since it will not be necessary to acquire the most expensive processors to be able to increase their frequency, now, the question is, how much will they be able to increase, since these CPUs will increase exclusively by BUS, not by multiplier as the K can also do.
Here I bring you some tests, to demonstrate that it is totally functional, and as always, it will depend on our luck of how good the CHIP that we put to the test will be.Hardware used:
• Unlocked Core i3 6320 with special Asus BIOS
• Asus Maximus VIII Extreme
• HyperX Predator DDR4 2x4GB
• HyperX Savage SSD 480GB
• SeaSonic 1200W PlatinumResults:

How incredible it is to see an i3 at 5500MHz, and of course, this CPU did not come out good, these go above 6000MHz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. We can also appreciate that the IMC is not bad at all, the HyperX Predator could work above 3400MHz. The limiting factor in this case, without a doubt was the processor, lowering the multiplier (this comes blocked upwards), I managed to raise the bus above 170MHz without problems, confirming that the limitation comes from the CPU side, I hope in the coming weeks, to get a better one to be able to do tests at higher frequency.
