HP computer, Windows 8 OEM and Windows 8 Pro OEM
-
Or how to get fed up with Windows 8 and the current policies of many companies…I have an HP PC from a client that came with Windows 8 installed, but since they have a domain in the company they need the PRO version. We sold them the PRO OEM version and they were unable to install it, so they sent everything back to us.
It turns out that I tried a clean installation of 8 PRO OEM, and when I finished I had problems with the video driver, so I tried downloading the AMD driver and doing a Windows Update, but the first one got stuck during installation and the second one crashed :frio:. I looked more closely and saw that it was activated without asking me for the license, and on top of that as Windows 8 plain and simple.
From what I have read it seems that the installation of Windows "communicates" with the BIOS of the HP and it tells it which license to install, which is a big pain in the ass, because I can't get past this point and I would have to ask for a Windows 8 Pro Update, which would mean we would have to eat the license with potatoes.
Have you encountered this and do you know how to solve it so that you can use the 8 Pro OEM?

Well, I found this:
Tomorrow I will try to see if there is any luck, but I hope for more opinions and experiences.

Pues no he conseguido nada, este tema lo doy por imposible. -
Check if there are versions of that laptop with W8 Pro, or if there are BIOS updates for that option.
If you can't find anything, you'll have to contact HP Support.
Salu2!
PD: I'm surprised you didn't think of a W8 Pro update as the first option before buying an OEM license :mudo: which is much more expensive.

We have closed the case in the technical department. My company will have to eat the OEM license and sell the update to the customer.
As for selling that license… the sales department, they already passed the buck to me when the issue with the Win8 pro license and the customer's computer started, to see if I could get it installed.
