As we already commented on its release, the new AMDGPU driver is composed of two large blocks: one free that is essentially in charge of the basic functions and 2D acceleration and another of closed code that is in charge of 3D acceleration.

Always interesting, and more so if this forces AMD to release more parts of their proprietary drivers. With AMD/Nvidia it's the same for me as Intel/AMD, the only thing that interests me is a real competition that can benefit the user, whether on Windows or GNU/Linux, where for years the best option has been the combination of Nvidia/Intel if you need good graphics performance.
