Doubt about i7 or Zen
-
Hello everyone, I turn to you so that you can tell me what I should do, honestly I am about to change my computer, which is the mobo, micro, memory and I was thinking about the i7 6700 but now I have been reading that the AMD ZEN micros are going to appear at the beginning of next year and that they have almost the same benefits as the intel running several threads per core and come with more cores than the intel.
The computer is mainly used for gaming and encoding video in x265, and I look for power so that the encoding does not take too long, I wanted to know what you recommend, whether to buy the i7 or wait for the ZEN

Currently I have a phenom II 965 BE with an MSI 790g65 and a Saphire 270x video card with a coolermaster 550w real power supply

Waiting is the best option, because then you will have to choose from the new AMD, new models of Intel, and surely with a slightly lower price (or quite a bit, if Zen turns out to be good and there is a price war).
Salu2!
PD: You can take the opportunity to put your signature

A 6700 doesn't seem like a bad buy to me, I think the Skylake refresh isn't imminent.

Like the peers, I prefer to play it safe and go with platform 1151, the Zen may (or may not) be what is expected, but you can always take advantage of the motherboard for the new  Kabylake.
A 6700 is the safest bet, it is a widely used processor with proven performance.Honestly, I don't want to get into theories about how a processor that, to the best of my knowledge, only knows the name will perform.
