Problem changing username in Windows 7
-
Hello,
I have a computer with Windows 7 and I have changed the username of the only user on the system. If I access it locally, there is no problem. But when I access it from remote desktop, I can only connect using the old username even though it does not appear in the "User Accounts".
What can I do to fix this?
Thank you.

You have to change the profile in the registry too, because the option to change username does not really apply to everything already created. I'll send you a link -> http://www.ghacks.net/2011/03/28/how-to-change-a-windows-account-name-and-user-profile-folder-name/

I can't change the folder name. It appears with a lock and when I right-click it, the option to rename it doesn't appear.
However, if I click delete, it asks me if I want to delete the folder with the new username, even though the folder is actually named after the old one.

I'm not sure if it's useful in this particular circumstance but... what about the Unlocker software?
The padlock thing has happened to me a few times in other contexts and I was only able to solve it with this application.
Best regards!

It's that the folder name is changed from the registry.

These things really annoy me a lot... how much would it cost M$ to do things right? That's what made me realize that when you change a user's name, you don't actually change it, it's a "mirage". What I didn't imagine is that they didn't consider the option of remote access.
Do you think it's an oversight or just that they didn't feel like implementing it?
It reminds me of how "difficult" it is to change the user folder, you can't just put everything on another disk, you have to go folder by folder and you can't do it on all of them... in win 10 they did something, but the same thing, they left it halfway without solving the problem at the root.
What a long rant, but I needed to vent....
