I read that it has been the version with the most changes of all time. The support for rx vega before the hardware comes out is something normal in linux. This kernel will be carried by some distros that will have support for a few months and maybe even years. Not having support for those gpus during that time would be a problem. Intel does the same thing by putting in drivers for integrated graphics chips that are not yet on the market. In fact, sometimes rumors about new products and release dates are based precisely on the support given to linux. It's a shame that nvidia continues with its stance of firm control over its software.
