It seems that Torvalds's overflowing fury is not only related to the code or the way changes are managed. There is an internal (ego) war in the security subsystem between Kees Cook and Brad Spengler in which they are throwing 0-day security flaws between their respective security systems. And they are doing it in public to prove that their systems are superior to each other. Apparently, both are two good pieces to avoid because of their haughty and arrogant attitude.
