RTX 2080 brands, MSI vs Gainward
-
I'm looking at 2080 models, and I've found a couple of really tempting deals so I'm going to jump in. Do you have any feedback on these models?
-730e MSI 2080 Ventus (2 fan configuration, 26cm length)
-700e Gainward 2080 (3 fan configuration, 30cm length!)Both have the same gpu and memory speeds, 3 years warranty, and considerably good reviews (the gainward ones are very good but being european they have fewer reviews, and msi has more fanboys), at least what I've seen on the internet. In case of any problems (touch wood), Gainward is based in germany and msi seems to be in Holland, which doesn't tell me anything hehe.
I haven't found reviews of these specific cards, but it seems that the 3 fan ones have better reviews. The only downside is that if I get the Gainward (which I want more), I have to change the case. I was going to do it for the new Zen2, but I need the card urgently so I have to choose one or the other
They are extremely expensive but it's been a long time since I bought myself a whim and my card is failing in every way. Plus I see it as difficult for a worse card to move my monitor, an HP Omen x35

MSI has an unfortunate (and I am being VERY generous) connection with Asus, and it is the "company" that they offer for technical service in Spain, whose name I won't even mention.
As a brand, it is very competitive, and with a quality/price ratio that is one of the best; but in this country, if you have to use the warranty with them, you'd better prepare well with lorazepams and omeprazols.
Just for this reason, I would go for the Gainward. But with my head held high, let's go.

Thanks for the info, I'll keep the msi/asus in mind!
I was more tempted by the Gainward, but the fact that the order was to Germany really put me off...In the end I've picked myself up and bought myself a very extravagant EVGA

I think all the graphics cards I've had in my life have given me problems (except for the first Geforce DDR), so I'll put the extended warranty on it and wax it!

Don't forget to show us the toy when it arrives to make us drool

And now that you've moved on from Gainward, remember that they are no longer as German, since 2005 they belong to Palit the Chinese manufacturer

We want a home review yes or yes. In the meantime I will continue with my RX 580 of 8 Gigas :man_lifting_weights_tone5:

Well yes, we want photos!!
I like both, but something more MSI. The only time I used ASUS warranty with a second-hand HD4850, PCcomponentes replaced it with an MSI.
Just today a coworker gave me a GTX1060 3GB MSI, let's see if I can plug it in and test it out!
Best regards!!!
