Grand Theft Auto Re: Liberty City Stories (Re:LCS)
-
Guys, I've been wanting to share this little discovery with you for a while now. It's about Grand Theft Auto Re: Liberty City Storie, a remake of Liberty City Stories for PC using the GTA Vice City engine as a base. Don't confuse it with a Mod for GTA San Andreas that exists on the same game.
It's still in Beta but it's at a very advanced level, I've tried it and it's definitely amazing. Plus, the subtitles for the missions are in several languages, including Spanish.Beta 5.0 Build 816 (Latest Public Build):
Portland: 99% (With bugs/crashes that need to be fixed).
Staunton: 99% (Same as above).
Shoreside: 99% (Same as above).
Side missions: 93%.I'll leave you the link to the website here: https://gtaforums.com/topic/887066-re-liberty-city-stories/
Lastly, just to mention that you don't need to have any GTA installed (not 3, not VC, not SA... nothing at all), just download the installer and play

Saludos!!

It seems that they removed the remake of GTA Liberty City Stories from the https://gtaforums.com page where the information was published and where the download link was located. I suppose it will be possible to download it from another place, when I find it I will comment again.
However, I found it very strange that this happened because with the work behind it and the time it had been published, I didn't see any logic. But while investigating, I read that the reason they removed the game was due to a request from Rockstar in this regard. This would be because they don't want anything to overshadow the three remakes they are preparing for the 20th anniversary of GTA 3. These remakes will be sold only in digital format and would be the well-known GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas.
If you have any more information about this, I look forward to your contributions. For my part, I must say that it makes my mouth water just thinking about those remakes...

Best regards!!

In the page I put below they talk about other mods for GTA V in which they "remaster" the GTA Vice City San Andreas, in said page it is referenced that Take-Two would have made a "cleaning" of mods. Forgive my bad translation of San-Google:
"These banned GTA San Andreas and Vice City Remasters in GTA 5 look impressive.
Earlier this month, Kotaku reported that Rockstar was working on remasters of GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas. According to Kotaku, these remasters will use Unreal Engine. However, these official remasters will probably not look as impressive as these remastered maps in GTA 5.
Let's start with the Grand Theft Auto San Andreas map in GTA 5. Created by “MrVicho13”, this map was still in an early alpha stage four months ago. From what I know so far, it didn't include any missions from the original game.
The custom map for GTA Vice City seemed a bit more ambitious. Created by "lunchxbles", this DLC-sized mod features MLO interiors, roads with relief maps, and various buildings, as well as 3D neon models. It also comes with windows mapped with specs for proper reflections, new models and textures, and working traffic lights. And in case the name "Vice Cry Remastered" sounds familiar, it's a mod we first reported on in 2020.
Now, unfortunately, Take-Two has removed these two mods/maps.
That's precisely why we've been encouraging you to download these mods while they're still available. And, in a way, it was to be expected. After all, Rockstar is working on the official remasters of these two games. Still, we're almost certain that these original remasters won't come close to these graphics.
What's also great here is that Reshade Ray Tracing seems to be working very well in GTA 5. So, you can find below two videos showing these two mods with it. And again, I'd be very surprised if the official remasters can come close to these visuals.
Enjoy! -
As I mentioned before, Rockstar seems to have forced the removal of this mod and many others due to the idea of releasing a remaster of GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas, which, by the way, was very controversial... but that's another story.
The point is that I just found a page where the mod mentioned in the thread is uploaded, in case anyone is interested: Link(Moddb).
The version published on this website is 4.0 (May 2019), but the one announced in this post was 5.0 (2020).

Edit:
I just saw the links to the Beta 5.0 and the Beta 6.0, I didn't have information that a new beta had been developed! Well, we'll have to try it out
GTA Re.LCS Language Packs (Partiel).
