You mean that it doesn't have heat sinks on the memory, or that it doesn't have thermal pads between the memory and the heat sink.

If the model originally had more cooling systems or better ones than it currently has, you might notice some corruption especially if it affects the memory, for example in textures, but in principle there would be no permanent damage except in very extreme cases.
