Attack on MSI
MSI has been the victim of a cyber attack, so it asks users to download firmware only from the official page and avoid other means. It is believed that it may have been ransomware, although rumors suggest that they have stolen BIOS source code, private keys for signing BIOS modules, and other resources.
Apple computer sales plummet
Apple has suffered a 40% drop in sales of its computers, the largest drop among major manufacturers, which also reach double digits. Despite the historic drop, sales are at levels from the early 1900s.
End of the party for Samsung
The hardware market continues to return to normal with deflation and drops in historical sales. Samsung's profits have been reduced by 96% compared to a year ago. To compensate for the sharp fall in demand, the manufacture of memories will be reduced, as other brands are already doing.
Identifying songs with Mousai
Mousai is an open-source tool that identifies songs by listening to them. For its operation, it makes use of the AudD song recognition API.
Cyberpunk 2077 with Ray Tracing
In this demonstration with an RTX 4090, they have executed Cyberpunk 2077 with Ray Tracing. They have split the screen showing the game with and without the effect and the difference is spectacular.
A review of the iAPX 432
The iAPX432 was the 32-bit super-CISC processor that Intel developed in the second half of the 1970s. This processor supported high-level language features such as data structures and hardware garbage collection. This gave rise to an incredibly complex design that consisted of three chips and approximately twice the transistors of the 286, with the 432 being four times slower.
Meteor Lake will have L4 cache
A patch in the Linux kernel has revealed that the future Meteor Lake architecture will come with level 4 cache.
Firefox 112 available
Firefox 112 comes with the possibility of seeing passwords by activating an option with the right mouse button in the corresponding field. You can also close tabs with the right mouse button in the tab list.
700W heatsink
Noctua has released a heatsink capable of evacuating 700W. It is designed for Xeons like the W9-3495X, which has 56 cores.
