Fake Samsung Pro for €40
Some Samsung 990 Pro SSD units of 4TB have been found for €40 that apparently are identical to the original ones with two differences: they are 7 times slower and their durability is so short that it is not even possible to check their total capacity.
Microsoft's glass storage
Microsoft continues to develop its glass storage device, which it has named Project Silica. In a piece of glass the size of a credit card, they have been able to store 7TB. This medium is resistant to water, electromagnetic pulses, extreme temperatures, surface scratches, and it is estimated that the information can last stored for about 10,000 years.
Nvidia starts to take Wayland seriously
The latest beta of Nvidia's drivers for Linux comes with a lot of changes that revolve around Wayland. Among other things, it brings variable refresh rate and 10-bit color depth.
Windows 3.11 on modern hardware
Someone has installed Windows 3.11 on a Raptor Lake. It includes Internet connection and a batch of programs for the window manager that end up leaving a pretty complete and functional system.
Intel N100
Someone has brought us the most basic Alder Lake. It is the N100, an SoC with 4 cores that with a TDP of 6W performs really well. It has a performance similar to the i5-6200U and among the micros of the architecture, it is quite close to the i5-12400F.
