Intel has presented its Sierra Forest platform, where a motherboard with a massive socket with 7500 pins has been shown.
Linux 6.6 available
Linux 6.6 comes with security improvements in Intel and AMD GPUs, Nouveau support for Nvidia's NVK Vulkan driver, better support for Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake, and thousands of other changes.
The M3 is presented
Apple has presented the M3, which comes with performance improvements of between 20 and 50% in CPU and 20% in GPU compared to the M2.
Japan returns to chip production
Canon has presented a new machine capable of manufacturing lithographs with a gate width of 5nm. It uses microprinting and proposes a very considerable cost saving compared to ASML's EUV.
WD is divided into two companies
Western Digital is going to be divided into two companies: one destined for mechanical hard drives and another for flash memories for SSDs. The division will occur during the second half of next year.
Asus breaks frequency record
Asus has reached a frequency of 9.044GHz on an i9-14900KF. The previous record was on an i9-13900K at 9.008 GHz.
uBlock Origin 1.53 available
uBlock Origin 1.53 comes with improvements in filters and security. As usual, the developers remind that the plug-in works better on Firefox than on other browsers.
