Hello guys, good evening, I need your help with a problem that I encountered with the graphics card. I have an rx580 (chinese), I know that these do not give the performance of an original rx580 and I also know that they were used for mining. The problem that happened to me was that, a day ago I was playing civilation VI, I was playing it for the first time, the performance of the card was good, just like its temperature (I suppose) stayed at 70-74° and did not go beyond that, I played for a good while until I started to see some lines in the game, I thought it was just in this one but it also appears in other games that are not high performance like LOL. I had the latest version of the card's drivers, the ventilation is not the best but for a mining card and to stay at 74° it is good (I say in my great ignorance).
The card gives video and does not crash, it's just like a visual effect in the games. Apart from the games it gives good image, it does not have any lines or anything suspicious.
I am very grateful that you can help me, have a good night, I am waiting for your interventions...

        Hello @Texus2002

It could be artifacts, produced by some defect in the PCB welds.
They usually occur in hardware that already has a lot of work behind it.

But to be sure, the ideal thing would be to see some image of those lines you mention, maybe it's something else.

        Regards

I imagine you've had the card for a while, because if not, the first thing would be to try to talk to the seller.

Try testing with another version of drivers, which sometimes play tricks. Besides, it's the simplest and quickest option to try. Regarding the temperature, it's not excessive but it might be interesting to check the thermal paste or check the ventilation of the tower. The issue of artifacts and green lines usually comes marked by some problem in the memories and one can be excess temperature. Measure the temperature of the memories in case they are too high.

If the issue is "physical" of a memory you might need to resolder it, do a reballing.

And finally, don't forget that these gpus come from mining but are usually already repaired graphics. Sometimes they replace components with others of worse quality or directly reduce components making a vrm or any other component do the work that two or three would do.

          Greetings!!

            Good morning @Texus2002

In case the graphic is a bit messed up, keeping the temperature as low as possible always helps, although obviously that can be complicated, depending on the tower and fans you have.

The glitches in the image are often related to bad VRAM, and that never has a good solution, I'm afraid.

            Good luck.

First things first, disassemble and check the thermal paste and thermal pads.
While you're at it, do a thorough cleaning of the fans and heatsinks.
I had an 580 and it works better by lowering voltages, you have several tutorials.
And while you're at it, check the often forgotten...
                The power supply.
Some put in a lot of voltage spikes and melt too many components.
                Regards

check as they say, the thermal paste and other components, and take close-up photos of the board from the front and back, to see if the Chinese have done any of their own.. normally these boards do not dissipate the heat from the memory. you will have to make some repairs to fix it. I put some small heatsinks for that and lowered the memory frequencies a bit.
