Intel CEO retires
Pat Gelsinger, the person who came to Intel to save the company, leaves it in a calamitous state. The CEO has been retired after reaching nearly 17 million in losses, after which he laid off 15,000 workers.
NVK with support for Vulkan 1.4
NVK, the free Vulkan driver for Nvidia GPUs on Linux, now complies with the specifications of version 1.4 of the graphics API. This change will be available in Mesa 25.0, which will be released in early 2025.
Ryzen AI 9 HX 375
Someone has brought us the first Ryzen with AI acceleration. The Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 is also our first AMD CPU with hybrid topology. Its TDP of 28W does not allow it to go very far in multi-threading, although the Zen 5 architecture at 5.1GHz puts this model in fourth place in the single-thread ranking.
