PCIe 7 specifications for this year
At a time when PCIe 4 is the most widespread standard, PCIe 5 is used in the high-end range and PCIe 6 is practically still to be launched, it is known that this year the specifications of the seventh version of the standard will be presented. As has been customary, it will double the performance of its predecessor.
Ryzen 7 7435HS
Someone brought us a Ryzen 7 7435HS the other day. It comes with 8 Zen 3+ cores that can reach 4.5GHz. Its half a million points place it in position 77 of the general ranking, which is not bad for a 45W portable CPU.
The TrackPoint begins to disappear in ThinkPads
Lenovo has decided to start taking ThinkPad models off the market without the iconic TrackPoint. The characteristic red dot was first introduced back in 1992 and since then the manufacturer (formerly IBM) has been defending the method of pointer control as a way to move the mouse without having to move your hands off the keyboard.
Wine 10 available
Wine 10 comes with support for the ARM64EC architecture, the one used in ARM devices with Windows 11. The API also comes with support for HiDPI graphics and the Wayland driver enabled by default, although the X11 one has preference if it is available.
SDL3 available
Yes, on the same day that Wine version 10 comes out, version 3 of SDL has appeared. The new version of the multimedia library comes with better documentation, a multitude of bugs fixed, a good handful of APIs to facilitate access to hardware and much more.
A mini-ITX case that folds
A mini-ITX case has been presented whose vertices can be folded, which greatly facilitates the assembly of the hardware while also reducing the volume occupied. The case comes with a 200W power supply.
Swap in ZRAM
Someone has created a tool that stores the content of the SWAP exchange in ZRAM. In addition, usage statistics are provided such as the best and worst compression ratios, usage over time and many others.
