Modular design for SSD
Samsung has introduced a new modular design for SSD drives in which the controller can be separated from the flash memory. According to the company, this improves heat dissipation and the repairability of the drive.
Server in smart bulb
Someone has managed to install a Minecraft server in a smart bulb. The device is powered by a RISC-V processor at 192MHz and 276kB of RAM.
Firefox 145 available
Firefox 145 comes with improvements in privacy regarding user tracking, support for the main video and audio codecs in the Matroska container, and the end of support for 32-bit systems on Linux.
New hardware from Valve
Valve's marketing machine has been smoking in recent hours announcing four new pieces of hardware: a Steam Machine (based on a Zen 4), a virtual reality headset based on ARM and running on Linux, a new controller, and hints of what the Steam Deck 2 will be.
