New record-sized data center
SoftBank has said it will build a data center in Ohio that will consume 10GW, one-third of all the power generated in the state. To power it, a gas plant will be built to supply capacity equivalent to 10 nuclear power plants.
64-bit Steam
Valve will begin phasing out support for its 32-bit game distribution client. Consequently, it will no longer be necessary to install 32-bit libraries on 64-bit systems. This change does not affect Steam games, but rather the client software itself.
FCC bans foreign routers
The US Federal Communications Commission has banned the sale of routers manufactured outside the country. Currently, the US produces zero routers per year.
