Poblemilla con CDRom y Atapi en XP

Muy buenas
Pues vereis, parece ser que desde que me instalé los drivers atapi para CDRom para XP, el dichoso Windows este me ha cambiado el modo de acceso del canal secundario de DMA a sólo PIO, con lo cual me va lentisimo grabando y leyendo en general desde los CDroms. Seguro que hay alguna forma de volver a dejarlo todo en modo DMA (a pesar de que, al seleccionarlo en la configuración del bus secundario, me deja selecconarlo pero el Windows me sigue diciendo que 'Solo PIO' en el modo de transferencia). Me podriais indicar como volver a dejarlo en modo DMA? Gracias
