Tipos de slots

Hola a todos.
¿Alguien puede decirme que tipos de slots hay hoy en dia? PCI, PCI-X, PCI-Express… Estoy hecho un lio.
Y las compatibilidades entre ellos... ¿Puedo pinchar una tarjeta PCI en un puerto PCI-x? Por ejemplo...Asias

Hay el PCI, el PCI-Express o PCI-X y el AGP. Son todos incompatibles entre sí porque una tarjeta PCI no cabe en un puerto PCI-Express o en uno AGP, una AGP no cabe en un puerto PCI o en uno PCI-Express y una tarjeta PCI-Express no cabe en un puerto PCI o en uno AGP.

El PCI-Express y el PCI-X no son lo mismo, el PCI extended es una versión "ampliada" del PCI tradicional que puede llegar a 1 Gbps. Es compatible hacia atrás por lo que funciona cualquier tarjeta PCI. Se suele usar para tarjetas de red Gigabit, Fibra Óptica y creo que también SCSI.
