si no recuerdo mal fue un intento de hace un bus PCI más rapido que el actual pero totalmente compatible hacia atras, como no les debió salir demasiado bien, se aparcó el proyecto y de ahí se pasó al PCIe actual totalmente incompatible con el PCI
