No captura imagen convertidor easycap de vhs a digital

Soy nuevo en esto. Acabo d adquirir un convertidor de easycap, para grabar peliculas vhs a pc. Dispongo de los tres conectores RCA, amarillo,blnco y rojo, enganchados a adaptador euroconector a video, y por el otro lado el convertidor, con puerto USB, al portatil HP. Cuando, tras instalar el Sofware del convertidor, no me coge la señal, segun indica la pestaña que me sale en pantalla, y por lo tanto no captura la imagen que reproduzco en el video. Podeis echarme un cable. Me estoy desquiciando.
