Lcd 100hz

tengo una dudas sobre los 100 hz, 400,hz, 600hz, etc que tienen algunas tv lcd?Para que son utiles?
hasta donde yo se en los crt se hacian de 100 hz para que la imagen no cansara tanto la vista, ya que al ser la alimentacion a 50hz, el parpadeo tambien lo era.Pero en los lcd no hay parpadeo, es decir, tu coges una imagen y esta fija, esta no deberia de parpadear, o me equivoco? -
La imagen no parpadea, se queda quieta y solo se cambia cuando es necesario (a diferencia de los CRT) cuando un monitor tiene 100hz es capaz de cambiar la imagen mas veces por segundo.
