F.A. de 12v, se calentaria tanto como una de 220V?

hola, me acabo de pillar un barabone shuttle, y me preguntaba si la fuente q tiene de 200w a 220v ,si la cambiase por una q funcionase a 12v ¿tendria los mismos problemas de temp?¿es para un camping car, y aprovechando q tiene enchufe a 12v, pues estaria bien q la fuente funcionase a 12, en lugar de ponerle en medio un transformador de 12v a 220v.
¿que me decis?¿ se puede hacer facilmente una fuente a 12v? ¿podria eliminar los ventiladores?¿
