Actualizar firmware

Buenas, queria comentar q me han dado una grabadora lg 8x q esta ya muy cascada q tarda en grabar un cd sobre unos 30 min y otro tanto en leer y por trastear un poco queira actualizarle la "bios". He visto por la red q se puede flashear y aumentarle su velocidad de escritura aunque tb recomiendan no hacerlo. Me podeis aconsejar sobre esta operacion?Alguien a probado ya?

Busca en la web de lg de acuerdo al modelo de la grabadora, cuidado con equivocarte de modelo y ponerle otro firmware, las grabadoras antiguas no tenian la opcion de actualizar por firmware pero solo saldras de esta duda entrando a la web del fabricante.
