Modem supramax vs Red Hat 8

Me acabo de cambiar a linux red hat 8, cuando lo domine un poco ya miraremos el 9 o debian o lo que sea. Mi primer problema aparece cuando no me detecta el modem interno, y ya me han contao que los internos suelen ser winmodems y no hay tu tia en linux pero me acaban de dejar uno externo y tampoco. Es el Diamond Multimedia Supramax 56, es USB de 56k. lo mas cachondo es que en el Navegador de Hardware (creo que se llama así) sí que sale con marca y todo. Entonces mi pregunta es ¿Necesito un driver? luego ¿como se instala ese driver? porque me estoy volviendo loco y solo encuentro de windows…
