En el portage de gentoo existe un pakete llamado xmms-itouch xa poder usar la zona multimedia de los teclados itoch de logitech, yo lo tngo instalado y va de pm, eso si solo funciona si tienes iniciado el xmms.

Pues yo uso el xbindkeys y no me hace falta tener el XMMS iniciado, y me va de p*** madre mi teclado multimedia :sisi: Es más, no sirve solo para los logitech, es para todos, y completamente configurable

enlace a la página oficialy sirve para cualqueir tipo de teclado y puedes asignar cualquier comando a cualquier tecla ya que sólo tienes que mapear los keycodes para asignar funciones
además tiene front-end para configurarlo gráficamente (klineakconfig y lineakconfig), aunque recomiendo hacerlo manualmente
PD: para controlar el xmms simplemente usa sus parámetros (escribe xmms –help en un terminal)
