Como se ejecuta el linux RED HAT?

Tengo instalado el linux red hat. Se carga hasta el kernel, pero luego me pide login i password. Pongo "root" y "*****…" el password, y luego tecleo "/sbin/init", pero no se inicializa y me da el siguiente mensaje:
"usage: init 0123456SsQqAaBbCcUu"Soy nuevo en esto del linux, y he buscado info por internet de como ejecutarlo, pero lo unico que he encontrado es lo de /sbin/init

Bueno, ejecutado ya está. El SO está arrancado, solo que en modo consola.
Lo que querrás es arrancar el entorno gráfico. Pon "startx".

Para iniciar el modo grafico, tambien puedes hacerlo escribiendo init 5
Pero esto solo funcionara si durante la instalacion instalaste algun escritorio, sino simplemente solo tienes el modo texto
