Intel 975XBXLKR (667Mhz) y TX PC6400 (800Mhz)

Estaba pensando en adquirir una placa Intel D975XBXLKR para un X6800, pero al entrar en la página de Intel leo en las especificaciones:
"Support for 667 and 533 MHz DDR2 DIMMs"Tenía pensado comprar 2X1GB TeamXtreem Micron D9 PC6400 800Mhz 4-4-4-10.
¿Eso quiere decir que como máximo, en esta placa, las memorias podrán trabajar a 667Mhz máximo?
¿Me convendría entonces ir a por una Asus P5WDG2-WS que admite DDR2 hasta 800Mhz?
Y otra pregunta, ya he visto que existen memorias a más de 1000Mhz… ¿pero existen placas que las admitan a toda su capacidad?
