Duda sobre super lcd

hola a todos, a caido en mis manos un pedazo de lcd no se si grafio o de caracteres pero el bicho tiene una pantalla de 14,8 X 7,5 y tiene este aspecto
tiene los chips HD61203, HD61200 y HD61830, ahi serigrafiado la marca y el modelo ke son hitachi LM238XB y tiene una fila de 20 contactos y otra de 10. Me gustaria saber si puedo intentar provarla sin ke le pase nada al ordena o si me tengo ke esperar a recopilar un poco de informacion sobre ella. Venga gracias

.. buské un poco y encontré ésto:
"The LM238XB has 4K bytes of input RAM. The controller can be instructed to treat this input RAM as either graphic or character information. Since the display has 30720 dots (240H x 128V) and the RAM has 32768 bits (4096 bytes x 8 bits per byte) you have the choice of implementing the display either way (I think)."
