Silenciar enermax 365VE

Bueno, toy mosca con mi fuente. Es una enermax 365VE, y los ventiladores hacen un ruido innecesario. He leido en silentpcreviews que es posible cambiar el termistor por un potenciometro de 100k, pero mas abajo te advierte que es peligroso pero no entiendo porque. Alguien me lo puede explicar??
