Streaming y IE6

Pues… me disponia a ver un video en streaming tras instalar el IE6 cuando de repente me sale algo asi... "para visualizar este componente debe instalar WMP7 o superior" y yo me pregunto... PORQUE COÑO TENGO QUE METER ESA MIERDA EN MI PC PARA VER UN STREAMING? si con el 5.5 funcionaba sin esa porquería!
Alguna solución? o directamente mando al IE a tomar por culo y me paso al primer navegador que encuentre?
