No oigo los DVDs

No hay manera de que oiga los DVDs en mi ordenador y no es problema del cable ya que los CDs los oigo perfectamente. Utilizo el Power DVD y ya he probado a configurarlo de mil maneras. ¿De que puede ser?
Por cierto mi lector de DVDs tiene dos salidas para el cablecito que va para la tarjeta de sonido, una pone que es digital, ¿Que diferencia hay? ¿Si conecto en la normal se me oiran los 6.1?
