        @cobito:

The USB drive with the system inside will have to be seen how it behaves with disparate hardware. It seems that it has nothing new; just an improvement in the system load and in the memory efficiency.

By the way, I don't understand what MS is playing at with Internet Explorer. Do they want to definitively end it by making it only usable on Windows 8? I think it's ridiculous.

As for me, they can do whatever they want, I only use internet explorer to go to the firefox download page ?

I don't even use Windows (well yes, for games), but I think it's essential that there is a good repertoire of browsers and Microsoft seems not to have realized that fewer and fewer people use their browser, let alone putting obstacles to its use.

I don't know. But I have the impression that Windows 8 is going to be as bad as Windows Vista and Windows Millennium were in their time, with a ton of incompatibilities, hundreds of crashes, and especially slow.

What do you base that on?
If it's at least equal to w7, good for them. Torvalds said that Linux had things to learn from Microsoft's last OS. If the boot time is 8 seconds, even better (although I think this will only be on portable devices like tablets)

After the good job they did with w7, they're not going to mess it up now

              Regards!

Windows 7 is a good system, worthy of succeeding Windows XP. W8 is an evolution of W7 with a change in the interface (Metro) and oriented, as already mentioned, to multiplatform.
I'm not saying they can't make mistakes, but I doubt it will be a failure, it will simply be a natural evolution of W7, adapting to the times we live in.

Anyway, until we try a beta version, we can't draw any deeper conclusions, because this version is super green and is more oriented for developers to get in touch with the system and start having a base for third-party software development.

I tried it on a virtual machine, and it took me a lot of trouble to get it to start xD Also, it gave me a blue screen (they modified its appearance). It detected several errors and asked me to report them to Microsoft, which I accepted to help solve problems, which I think is another mission of the Alpha and Beta versions.

Regarding IE 10, being only compatible with Windows 8, I also see it as a mistake that only makes IE used less and favors the competition, I don't know why they don't at least give minimum support to W7, which is already quite widespread.
Anyway, lately I've been perplexed because you open IE 9, or Firefox 6 or Chrome (not the latest version) and they are practically the same in appearance.

Windows XP is still fine for most tasks, but it is not suitable for gaming. Also, I don't know if it's just me, but the TCP/IP stack in Windows Vista onwards (Windows NT 6.x), works considerably better than that of Windows XP.

An XP is somewhat outdated, especially with Ubuntu, Fedora and others that are much more modern systems and, along with Wine, compatible with many Windows programs, obviously for free. W7 is a magnificent system, if OSX is ahead in something it is the friendly aspect it has and a greater simplification of common tasks in that Microsoft should work... but let's not kid ourselves, they are not going to fall off their high horse.

But this first aspect of W8 in my opinion is horrendous, and the squares in the version for nets seem taken from another era, they should learn from OSX Lion or Android 3.0 that both give it a thousand kicks. Right now my only reason to use Windows is for games.

I am using Windows 7 Professional x64 and it works wonderfully for me. I have no plans to switch to Windows 8. Although, even today, for certain programs I must use Windows XP, Windows 7 has Virtual PC (Windows XP mode) which works wonderfully for me. Especially when I have to use Visual Basic 6.0 for programming.

I wonder if Windows 8 will also have that Virtual PC, if it will be as reliable as Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 7, or if it will suffer the same fate as Windows Millenium and Windows Vista.

I currently see it as stable and it is not very greedy with resources.
