      hello again

the 6950 mutates to the 6970 easily, making it a good option although the 560Ti is also a good graphics card

      regards

          @Sylver:

Perhaps the only flaw that can be put to the R6950 is the fairly high consumption, due to the dual GPU. At full load it consumes almost double that of the 560 Ti.

It does not have an internal Cross:

It also does not consume double, only 10% more than the 560 Ti and because it is OCed.

Yes, it is true that it does not consume double, I was misled by a reference to the full consumption of a PC during tests with different graphics, although according to the source the consumption increases by more than 50% on the same system with a 6950 at full load compared to the 560 Ti.

Edit: I was guided by an AMD and not by the MSI, my mistake.

Hi Silver Tecnho Ferelxyx Obione and others, how are you? Well, following the thread of another colleague CNCBCN gives a link where some tests give a little more "frames" to the 6950, but the one I proposed MSI Radeon HD 6950 Twin Frozr III Power Edition/OC 2GB GDDR5 R6950 TWIN FROZR III PE/OC, keeps going up in price, I started at 224 and it's already at 250 :verguen:
And while we're at it, for a little more, about 300 +/- and something that you think would be best for my "gadget", suggestions are welcome….

By the way, don't you think that in an AMD chip set, an AMD graphics card would perform better? Another thing, can you do an SLI with a GTX569 and a 9600GT?.... tachan tachan intrigue, I've always had NVIDIA, but from what I see and read, AMD or ATI as you want, it seems that they give a little more for less €, but it also holds me back that they have always had problems with drivers, how are the AMD drivers now.

Well, after the long paragraph, goodbye

              !AMD Power! ?

P.S.: To continue the conversation, what do you think of the motherboard in my signature, :rollani:

well I have ATI_AMD and the drivers are already pretty good

as for the graphics cards, these would be a good option

                Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870 OC 1GB GDDR5 - 181 euros

                Gigabyte GeForce GTX560 Ti OC 1024MB GDDR5 - 205 euros

                EVGA GeForce GTX570 HD 1280MB GDDR5- 292 euros

                Sapphire Radeon HD 6970 2GB GDDR5 + DIRT 3 - 297 euros

                Gigabyte GeForce GTX570 UD 1280MB GDDR5 - 312 euros

                Gigabyte Radeon HD 6970 OC2 2GB GDDR5 - 330 euros

the ones with the red price are more recommendable because of their better cooling and less noise

                regards

Indeed, the ATI drivers are pretty good right now, I have the 5850 Xtreme with one of the latest Catalysts and no problems at all.

About your Sabertooth, I must say it's pretty good, a decent chipset, option to go crazy and set up a quad-SLI ? and a ton of connectors that will come in handy, something I miss in my mediocre Gigabyte :vayatela:

Best regards and AMD Power! ?

Sorry for the late reply but I was out of service..
Thanks Ferelxyx for the list of graphics, Tecnho is right you can no longer mutate to 6970, but I am still leaning towards the MSI, oh as always I make a mess because the GTX560 TI oc also looks very good, but is it true that AMD needs less CPU?

no I have a month to think about it so I will comment later ?

I personally have an nvidia 550 gtx ti with oc, I chose that one mainly because the performance was greater than others and yet it required less power supply (I will have to change it soon) since it is 500… of course that one, it is a good one, although I would also look at the 560ti oc, the next one to mine that is to lick your fingers

                        @Chemacaso_1964:

is it true that AMD need less CPU?

There are some exceptions but generally yes, they are less CPU-dependent than nVidia, which is why I got the 5850 Xtreme, since my processor is not exactly a beast… :nono:

Well in the end I have opted for the dark side ….. AMD ;D and I have assembled the msi R6950, well I will tell you how it went so far very happy, the problem is that with the AMD/ATI drivers I am not very clear, what do you recommend the ones from the msi website or the one from AMD, in short, any suggestion will be well received
Greetings to all, and as always thanks for the opinions.

I'm following the story, down 11.9  I haven't been downloading the CCC (Catalyst Control Center) in a while, I only download the driver (in support, search for driver, select component - graphics, type - HD, series - 6XXX and OS. Then you have the CCC and in the "individual downloads" tab the driver alone). The configurations I need, which are quite few, I do them from Sapphire TriXX (OC), Windows, or from the games themselves. Before it worked with the ATT (ATI Tray Tools), it has a simple interface but it's great, now I don't use it because it gave me errors with both the 4850 and the 6850 when making profiles. For example, the fan regulation didn't work well and the OC assigned to a game ended up in a black screen. That's why I now use the Sapphire TriXX which is simpler than the mechanism of a clay pot and with a very comfortable interface. PD: We finally have support for SpeedFan with the 4.45 beta! ?

Well, let me explain, yesterday the first scare was a frozen screen and alternating sound, I downloaded the drivers on AMD and it can't load a package (I assume it's a cap), it asks me to restart, the PC stays painted for about 5 short ones and one long one, it doesn't start, I press the Memory OK button, and it starts, I look at the ASUS website, I see a new beta BIOS by the way, I download it and install it, so far everything is fine, another one the Live update 5 from msi doesn't work :llorar:, I don't know ¿ do you think something from the NVIDA drivers is left?, ¿the motherboard too new?, I mean that it doesn't have the BIOS well tested, I don't know, opinions are welcome ?

I don't download betas if I don't have errors, in fact I usually look at the improvements that the BIOS brings because they might come with compatibility for RAM and yours are well recognized.

I felt like checking all the drivers and downloaded the latest ones for the sound card. I was so smart that I deleted the current ones and they didn't detect the new ones xD I couldn't find the previous drivers (I found them on an external website) and I sent them a message complaining that they weren't there and that we didn't have drivers for 64 bits yet. The next day (today) I had a message from Marian audio sending me a link to the old drivers (they weren't easy to find but they were there :risitas: ).

I also updated the BIOS because they already have a couple. I at least wait 2, when they have 2 or 3 (unless I see an interesting improvement) I update to test and take a look at the voltages in CPU-Z.

I don't care much for Live Update, I prefer to look from time to time and not bother installing programs.
