EVGA GTX 570

ten years of warranty are very good, for: a car a fridge an oven, but for a graphics card …. if I give you the most powerful graphics card they sold 10 years ago right now what will you say to me? to give you an idea the RTW is from 2001 (how time flies) nobody keeps a graphics card for 10 years let's just say that they haven't passed more quality controls or anything and don't use the warranty as a decisive argument to decide on the purchase (that anything that goes beyond five years is almost never worth anything)
+1 CNCBCN
And don't be so critical about the bottlenecks, (they called us drunks) ;D

for the bottleneck problem this is the best solution http://img.alibaba.com/photo/377523670/45ml_Long_screw_neck_glass_tube_bottle_with_aluminum_cap.jpg -
Personally I would get an HD5850 to get by, and when you go to change everything you sell it and upgrade the whole PC (save the money from the GTX570, because buying and then selling the 5850 you won't lose much money), since by then they may have released a card that is much superior in terms of quality/price/consumption compared to that possible SLI of GTX570, and certainly compared to a single GTX570

-
Well, the truth is that the warranty is not an important factor in that sense as you put it, the advantage it does have is when selling it perhaps in 2 years, saying that it still has 8 years of warranty makes it easier to sell (or so I think hehe)
Warranty details aside, which version would you get? Basic or OC? What I see is that they probably have the same heatsink, right? I'm including a couple of links for informational purposes to facilitate the question I'm asking you:
- GTX 570 Base
- GTX 570 OC Classified
Do you think it's the same heatsink? I'm not sure about that.
If it were the same, what would be the point of buying a version with OC done if it's the same card, the Base version would theoretically reach those same frequencies by doing the OC yourself and saving the €50 difference, right?
That's the doubt that has always been raised for me with the typical OC versions of the same card.
Thanks! Regards!
-
if they look the same on the outside, the only thing they tell you changes is that one has OC as standard and the other doesn't, the price and the warranty. in two years for that second-hand graphics card they'll give you half of what it's worth today (at best). about doing your own OC? well, if you know how to do it you can. the million-dollar question is whether the base version isn't capped. let me explain: I sell graphics card A with OC for 350 and graphics card B without OC for 300, if you can OC graphics card B and make it perform the same as version A, who will buy version A?
what I'm saying is a personal opinion and I could be wrong.
P.D. regarding the heatsink, you can only see the casing and you might have different things inside
edit: and the outputs :D:D

Interesting what you say, for about 100€ I have a 5850 that with the E8400 I can play for a few months better than with my current setup.
How well do they sell second-hand? Can I get about 80€ in a couple of months or three?
Thanks! Regards!

That's what I would do... if there aren't too many new releases those 80€ you'll get them for sure, and if not at least 70€ which is quite a lot (I would see those 20/30€ as an investment to play properly for several months).
And then for sure you can get something better and for less

Regards
P.D.: Also you always have the option that at the time of buying a pc there isn't a graphics card that you particularly like, you see the graphics power of the 5850 as sufficient and decide to invest more in the rest of the pc, since the 5850 is also no joke and could last you longer until you save a bit for when something comes out that convinces you ;D

To be honest, I hadn't stopped to think about it like that, now that I see it, the 350€ for the GTX 570 seems crazy to me xD it's quite a lot of money.
I'll think about it, but it's quite likely that I'll add that 5850 to the E8400 that I'll be left with, given the situation, I think it's a bad time to renew the PC, since new processors are coming out now and AMD graphics are also coming out at Christmas (the 7000 series), with that 5850 I'll be able to play current games and hold out for a few months to see what the new CPUs and graphics bring

Thanks! Regards!

Finally I ordered a 5850 for 105€, it's Friday so I imagine it will arrive by Monday or Tuesday, so I'll tell you what they bring me, because I read that you can get a V1, V2 or even a Vapor-X, so let's see if there's any luck jeje
Thanks for the help to everyone!
Regards!EDITO: With my source, a Seasonic S12 550w will be good for the E8400 and the HD 5850??

There are people with that power supply and a 5850 CF

You've got yourself a good deal, you'll see the difference
Salu2

the maximum consumption is 151W so I don't think you will have any problems

Thanks!

I'll tell you my impressions when I get there jeje
Goodbye!

Thanks!

I'll tell you my impressions when I get there jeje

We're waiting for your impressions when you get the graphics

Who knows, maybe in the future you can consider doing a CF because it's very fashionable lately with this graphics and the HD5870, haha.Regards!!
Edit:
Look at a picture of your card with a CF :risitas:
