      Hello again forum members.

Continuing with the (I believe) healthy habit of sharing my experiences and feelings when acquiring new hardware, I proceed to review my last two acquisitions.
These are two 24” monitors from Benq RL2450HT.

To begin with, the manufacturer's specifications:

      Screen size 24"W LED Panoramic
      Resolution (max.) 1920 x 1080
      Pixel size 0.276 mm
      Brightness 250 cd/m2
      Contrast 1000:1/ Dynamic (DCR:12,000,000:1)
Response time (tr/tf) 5 ms, 2 ms GtG
      Viewing angle (left/right; up/down) 170 / 160
      Colors 16.7 million
      Input signal D-sub / DVI-DL (Dual Link) / HDMI x 2 / DP 1.2 / Headphone jack
      Horizontal / Vertical frequency (max.) KHz 30 ~ 83 /50 ~ 76
Power consumption/ Power supply 27 W (Energy Star 5.1)/ Integrated

The packaging, as could not be otherwise in this type of product, perfectly protects the transport and comes amply safeguarded in boxes of considerable size.

The contents of the package consist of:

24” monitor with the support base or stand disassembled, power cable, VGA cable, quick installation brochures, warranty and CD with drivers and instruction manual.

The monitor is completely matte black, except for the brand logo, which is white.
Framing the screen, also with a matte finish, it has a black profile of about 2 cm. A measurement to keep in mind if you are going to use two together since that will be the "black strip" that will divide the visual surface.

Since the monitor base comes disassembled, the first thing to do is to assemble it. A simple operation that will not take more than two minutes and for which no tools will be necessary.

After assembling the base and being able to place the monitor in its natural position, what stands out most is its ergonomic capacity. In addition to being rotatable and able to put the screen vertically, it can be adjusted in height and inclination. It is almost impossible not to find a position that does not adapt to your position.

This same ergonomics allows you to connect and disconnect the cables very easily. Cables that, in case you want to enjoy a DVI or HDMI connection, you will have to buy separately, as only the VGA cable is included.
Although it does not have speakers, it has an audio output (when connected via HDMI) in the form of a 3.5 mm jack that allows the connection of headphones or external speakers.

The monitor has a practical cable manager on the back of the central column that allows us to keep the desk tidy.

The configuration buttons are located on the right side, in this case, this makes access to them more difficult since they will be together. As the power button has an LED that lights up, it cannot be in the front since it would reflect on the adjacent screen. The ideal would be to have them at the bottom.

In terms of image and color quality, it has several preset profiles and three profiles configurable to your liking.
By default, it brings the gaming profile called RTS activated, which in my opinion, is nothing more than marketing. Although it is a matter of perception and personal taste, this profile seems to me to clarify colors too much, taking away their intensity. Personally, for comfortable viewing of text and images without burning the retina, I prefer the profile called Standard or one of those that allows you to customize it to your liking.

In any case, it is appreciated that it is a good panel, I don't know if I was lucky, but they don't have a single wayward pixel. The matte finish of the panel does not reflect other light points in the room, avoiding glare on the screen and with the correct configuration, it offers good definition and color quality.

Its behavior in games, the little I have been able to test, is more than remarkable.
Investigating, and aware of my ignorance, I have passed several tests and I have seemed to detect a subtle hint of ghosting, or what my ignorance has interpreted as such. But in games, I have not detected any trace of it.
I have a monitor connected with a DVI-HDMI cable and the other with HDMI-HDMI, the fact is that I have discovered something noteworthy (maybe someone will laugh, but I was unaware), and this I don't think I would have noticed if I didn't have two identical ones together. The monitor connected via DVI-HDMI offers slightly more intense blacks than the one connected by HDMI-HDMI with the same configuration. It is not a monitor fault since the result is reversed by changing the cables.

In conclusion, I find it a good monitor for the 195€ (02-13-2012) that I paid for each of them. And at least in my case, they cover all the expectations I had. Aware that there are panels with much higher quality that also imply greater outlay.
The RL2450HT is undoubtedly a very balanced mid-range monitor, with very good quality and at an adjusted price.

I hope to have helped resolve some doubts or influenced some decision when choosing a monitor.

      Best regards.

By the way, what a work space you have set up, you make me envious ? Good review as always compañero :sisi:

How happy he is with those new monitors hehe, the truth is that I have always been interested in setting up several monitors but in the end I always end up breaking down.

The truth is that the pair is amazing, I don't know how I could have been working for so long without them ;D
If you want them to play the ideal combination is three, otherwise the frame stays in the middle of the image... and you can't imagine how difficult it is to aim in Battlefied with a 2cm black strip covering the enemy. :ugly:
Anyway, the crossfire notices the two monitors and although I only play on one (1920x1080) the other remains active with windows and I notice how the rpm of the graphics fans increase to stay at the same 65º.

@Sylver don't think that I always have the workspace so empty (fortunately ;D) that normally the table is full with the netbook, laptop (or both at the same time) and lots of scraps of paper and notes.
But since I have to spend my good hours there, at least be comfortable.

            Best regards

Man, I figured that they always clear the place and tidy it up to upload the photos, but the day to day must be a different story ?
It's my student floor desk that's about 1/4 of yours and sometimes I have to dig to find the mouse…

                What a review streak you're on ?
I've had 3 monitors, a widescreen in the center of 20" and two 4:3 format on the sides also of 20" but since moving to Valencia they no longer fit so I only have two here on the table.
They are getting a bit old (although one is a PVA panel which I would say looks better than the two TNs) and I will have to update them, but lately I have been lazy about spending money… Am I becoming stingy? xD

                Very good monitors indeed.

P.D.: You know that I'm a bit of a slob a lot of the time (I have the tank and the pump of the RL held together with duct tape, and the Radiator with minesota >_< and also by ---> HTPC Extreme + Router Volador ) So to avoid the 2cm frame thing I removed the frame from all the screens XD

I am still on the hunt for frameless monitors, otherwise I will end up buying a bulky one, it's a shame that those wonderful Samsungs are still expensive and the years keep passing by.

Unfortunately, the bezel is a widespread problem in all monitors, unless they are designed to be mounted in a video wall like the Samsung ones you mentioned, which then lack a bezel.
In everyday use, it doesn't bother too much because the windows are located on both sides of the "black strip", but obviously it ruins any hope of playing on two monitors at the same time because, as I say, the bezel is in the center of the visual surface, much better on three monitors ;D.

                    Best regards

Well you finally went for the RL2450HT just like me ? To be honest I'm really happy with it and I was very satisfied with my previous monitor (which I'm still using well).

Anyway, you saved me the review, because to be honest, due to lack of time because of work, I haven't even been able to think about doing :triston:
And when you have to bear the extra workload that others haven't been able to plan for months and you have to deal with the colleague, then that's what happens.

But that's another topic, I hope you enjoy it as much as I'm enjoying it, and even more so ?

                      @Bm4n:

]How happy he is with those new monitors lol, to be honest I've always wanted to set up multiple monitors but in the end I always end up giving up.

I've also thought about "three" many times but I always end up giving up :fumeta:

Hello, I find your review very interesting, I am thinking about getting the monitor, but I would like to know how it is in video playback, movies etc... and seeing it from different angles, is this last one uncomfortable or not a problem?

The monitor has different predefined image modes, and some more that you can customize, so you can leave the color saturation, brightness etc, to your liking. But the quality is good and you won't have ghosting or anything like that, at least it doesn't appear to me. ;D

The thing about the angles, it depends. Don't pretend to see it almost from the "corner" because it loses.
But it has good viewing angle. I've seen some that, as soon as you moved minimally from the front it started to "gray". But without a doubt what greatly favors the vision is, as I say in the review, it's impossible not to find a position that doesn't meet your needs. Thanks to having the rotating base, the foot adjustable in height, the panel tilts and is rotatable, you can change it position very easily and with one hand.

                          Best regards

Thanks for responding, you have largely solved my doubts and most likely I will end up buying this monitor, I have seen nothing but advantages in it (although the biggest problem is when choosing one like this or one with an IPS panel, but for the money I think this is a better choice) in that case, I will tell you about my experience xD

It's not that hard to choose between IPS or LED. Basically if you want IPS for gaming, get your wallet ready because only the quality ones give good results and these are from 500/600 € upwards.
On the other hand, if you want to play with quality, but can't afford that much money a good quality LED is around 200/300€ and will satisfy all your demands.

If it is all the same do you think it is worth paying the difference and for 2 inches more to get this one? What values do you have set for brightness, color etc?

Well I could not tell you. Basically it is the same, smaller. It depends on the price you paid for the 22" one and the one you are going to pay for the 24", but it is not such a big difference from 22 to 24 with the same resolution.

I use the monitors to work, therefore 70% of the time it is for text. The "standard" mode that comes pre-set is enough for me. If I play, I put one of the customized ones, which is the "clearer" standard because for games it is somewhat dark.

                                  Best regards
