      Hello,

About 3 or 4 years ago I bought a desktop (HP Pavilion) and from what I see in the latest games I use, the graphics card is lacking, so I've been thinking about changing it. The problem is that I have no idea which one to buy or I don't understand much.

Could you advise me? I want to spend between 100 and 200 euros. Do you think that in that range I can have something decent that runs well with current games?

My computer is an HP Pavilion, Quad Core with 4gb of RAM. I bought the monitor recently, it's a 24-inch full HD Samsung. Right now I don't have the computer in front of me so I can't provide more data. As soon as I have it I will post it.

      Regards and thanks in advance.

It will have a crappy power supply, I would get the 5850 refurbished from pccomponentes + power supply, but if you don't want to change it, the 7770 sucks up very little and pulls almost like the 6850. Another option if you don't want a refurbished/repaired one is the 6870 with a Silverstone Strider for 60 euros (pccomponentes, look on Amazon if that because it might come out a little cheaper).

          Thanks for replying ?

          And how about this one?

          Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 + Deus Ex 11180-00-20R Graphics Card

I guess I'll have to change the font...

            From highest to lowest performance: 6870 - 5850 - 6850 - 7770

I would rather get the 6870, the 5850 is the best option performance/price but it is a revised/repaired one with 1 year warranty by law, although now it says 6 months and it is sold out, and the 7770 being the one that consumes the least can be an option to save on the power supply and get a good price overall. To your liking, I would opt for power supply + 6870 or 5850.

              +1

That team needs a power supply of about 500-600W, like OCZ or Corsair, and with the 5850 it already flies, it gives you the ability to play games at high resolution with almost everything on high detail.

Many thanks to everyone for your responses. I will probably go for the 6870.

I'm uploading some photos I took of the inside of my pc. So for this card, what cooler do you recommend?

                  Thanks again

My recommendation is that you do not mount less than 500W with 80 plus certificate and active PFC. If you intend to spend 30 euros on a power supply you are committing a serious error, because the health of all your components depends on the quality of the power supply...

You can mount this one that is also enough for you:

                            Corsair CX500 V2 500W Builder Series CMPSU-500CXV2 Power Supply

                            Greetings

in any case you may have a small problem with the 6870 or any graphics card you buy, as I see you have the board "inverted" and that means the graphics card will suck in air from above right where you have the power supply and if it's one of those that are blowing air all day ….. we're in trouble.

The graphics card is not bad at all, although I would opt for an HD6850.

As for this power supply, I don't have much knowledge of the Tacens Radix, so I can't comment on that power supply, but as they advise here, I would opt for a Corsair.

I will tell you what the final decision was and whether it was correct or not... which I am sure that with what you have told me it will be.

Well, after two months I'm back to searching for a good graphics card (+ a font). From what I see in the latest responses, the best option is the 6870. Which of these 3 would you choose?

                                            http://www.pccomponentes.com/buscar.php?p=6870&f=527

And one more thing, if I increase the budget by 50 euros, would there be any card that would mean a significant quality jump or is it not worth it? From what price would I start to find cards significantly better than the ones you tell me?

                                            Regards and thanks again.
