Hello everyone,
I hope the veterans can help me out because I would like to receive the opinions of some of you because honestly, I have been disconnected from everything related to hardware for a long time.
I had almost decided to get a 37" Panasonic with the famous Alpha-IPS for a driving simulator that I want to set up properly, but the truth is that I have always wanted to set up the triple monitor in 27" for it. Until now, only the high price of IPS panels in 27" had held me back.
But after seeing the new Achieva, Crossover, Capleat, etc... I think I'm going to jump in and buy 3 of these gadgets in 27". I don't know if you know the brand Hazro that they sell at Overclockers but they are the same panels... identical to the Dell ones, so you can imagine. 100% quality and the prices are amazing. I honestly would buy a Dell if I had to buy one, but considering that they are three and they cost about 300 euros delivered, the savings are very important.
Besides, the use is going to be very, very sporadic... so I'm going to give them a hard time.
My doubts are:
ATI or NVIDIA? (my PC is an Acer predator that I got second-hand with an i2600, 12GB RAM, SSD... but only a GTX285, so it's time to upgrade the graphics.
Will a Crossfire of 6970 with 2GB be enough for iFactor, iRacing, etc. and to move the 3 monitors?
My main problem is that these monitors only have one Dual Link DVI output and I want to know:
How can I connect them?... I have read about them but I am not clear about the Dual Link issue which is the only input that can connect 3 of them to the same PC (two seems to be possible). If so, how to do it? Using DVI to HDMI converters?
Would there be any way to connect the Xbox to one of them?
For those interested or those who don't know them, the main ones that sell on ebay are:
- Dream-seller (Mask Pack, Camera Ball Head items in Dream-seller store on eBay!)
- Green-sum (CCTV Camera, HDD External Hard Drive items in green-sum store on eBay!)
- Dc-Samsungmall (3D glasses, PC montitor items in Dc Samsungmall store on eBay!)
Here you have a very interesting thread about these new gadgets:
(Reviewed) $400 2560x1440 IPS no-AG 90hz+ Achieva Shimian QH270 and Catleap Q270
I hope for your fierce opinions, I'm in a hurry to clarify before I spend some money that I'll get in a few days.
Best regards and thanks in advance.

And with what are you supposed to move such a resolution?

Now seriously, wait for the new release this Thursday from nVIDIA (GTX680), and if not AMD Eyefinity (HD79xx).

if you buy monitors of that type, Dell ones are better than the ones from the odd brand. You are wrong about the panel, a Dell 2711 has an LM270WQ2 panel and an odd brand one has an LM270WQ1, besides, the odd brand ones do not have the "antiglare" sheet (the one that prevents reflections) and from what I have heard, if you get a dead pixel, you will have to eat it with potatoes.
about the PC... you can mount AMD or NVIDIA, but to play well you will need a high-end graphics card for each monitor (that is, to put 3 monitors you will need 3 NVIDIA 570 / 580 or its equivalent in AMD). The 3 monitors work with "only" 2 high-end graphics cards, but in many games you can notice that the performance is lacking

Well that's one of my questions, buddy.
I was thinking of using a couple of 6970s but considering the 400Hz DAC of the nVidia that limits the pixel clock less than the Ati and the possibilities of the Capleat that is capable of offering refresh rates of almost 100Hz and that will probably be my choice, I might have to get a couple of GTX 580 or 590 at the very least.
Best regards,

if you buy monitors of that type, Dell ones are better than the ones from a strange brand. You're wrong about the panel thing, a Dell 2711 has an LM270WQ2 panel and a strange brand one has an LM270WQ1, besides, the strange brand ones don't have the "antiglare" layer (the one that prevents reflections) and from what I've heard, if you get a dead pixel, you'll have to eat it with potatoes.

I know that the Dell with its in sutu 3-year warranty is a much better choice, but in the best case they are 530 lerus, which means a saving of almost 700 euros when buying the 3... which is a risk worth taking in my case considering that I'm going to use them very little... not to mention that I still have to get apart from the three monitors, the graphics cards, a TV of at least 37", a desk, a director's chair, a 3-seater sofa, a fanatec cockpit, a fanatec elite wheel, shiffer, handbrake, clocks, a sequential shifter from frex... and that's a lot of money I don't have, so I have to go little by little and scrape together from where I can.
As for the dead pixel thing... for $60 more they check the monitor before shipping and assure you that it doesn't have any (they can also be bought with a 3-year warranty from Squaretrade, although that's very green) and if there are models that have the layer I think for $30 more.
Thanks for your opinion,

Thanks Fassou… but I have always followed a maxim... that of not paying the last... back in my Todoreviews days we enjoyed his for a few years and I am not that much of a snob (Who would have thought it, given the setup I want to build, right?) ;D;D
Anyway, like everything, I will have to buy it little by little, so maybe in the end I will get some of these at a lower price on the second hand market, you never know.

Well, if you don't demand much, they might serve you a couple of 7970s or better yet, two 680s when they come out, but for example, to play Battlefield 3, they would already be just... And to plug something like that, the ideal thing is an X79 motherboard that supports triple PCIE 16X 3.0. Besides the monitors you mention, they have a very tempting price, but with those Korean brands, I imagine you'll have to wait for the lottery that in a series they haven't mounted another panel.
I don't know, we're talking about 1800€ in monitors and motherboard and even then it would be just... in my opinion it would be better for you to put together something a bit more restrained and make sure it works perfectly. For example, some TN 27" at 1080 and a crossfire of 7870s, we would be at a budget of approximately 1200€ and more restrained.
But let's face it, money is there to be spent, with 3 powerful modern graphics cards and a good X79 motherboard, we're talking about 3000€ that won't go anywhere, that's clear.

We'll see what happens with the mess of if... things are fucked up... but I also considered the TNs, don't worry... but you know... in the end... this is like construction.
What does worry me about the Capleat, which was almost my final decision... is that I think it doesn't support VESA mounting and that's crucial... no matter how much I look, I can't find where to confirm it.

Guys… I'm not willing to spend such a fortune on graphics.
I'm not that much of a sissy for that... a lot of people play with crossfire of 6870 and 6950 and they are very happy. I think the 6970 is my limit.Regards,

Let's try to understand each other, the maximum resolution at which these graphics are tested in SLI/Crossfire is 5760x1080 and you want to play at 7680x1440. It's not about whether you're a snob or not, it's about wanting to play at an exaggerated resolution and therefore needing an exaggerated graphics setup. The calculation is very easy: if for a 2560x1440 monitor you need a high-end graphics card, for 3 you need 3 high-end graphics cards. For it to work with two, either both are top-of-the-range, or you play with medium/low details, without filters or with simple or old games. You become a snob when you set out to run that resolution. In fact, getting two 7970s wouldn't be snobbish but poor because the ideal would be 3. Obviously, you can always try with 2 graphics cards and then expand to 3. In your case, it would actually be better economically to set up 3 high-end cards (7870 for example) instead of 2 top-of-the-range (7970). You could even start with 2 and then see if you can afford more, or if 3 are insufficient for your expectations, add a 4th. But be careful, to do this you need a computer that supports it because we're talking about having 3 or 4 PCIE 3.0 slots and a power supply of 1000-1200W. And since it's a lot of money, I repeat that perhaps it's less snobbish to set up 3 monitors at 1080 and forget all this nonsense, given that we don't understand that resolution can penalize results quite a lot. That is, it all depends on your demands, since you say that there are many people very happy with a 6870 Crossfire, but playing with medium or low details and without AA depending on the game (for example, Dirt 3 or COD MW2, which are not very demanding). It's very easy to verify what I'm saying: 7680x1440 - Search with Google P.D. The article I mentioned before, even if I put the photo as a joke, is especially interesting because it mentions the differences between ATI and Nvidia in SLI/Crossfire in games where one performs better or worse, even in others that don't even work.
