You are wrong about the panel, a Dell 2711 has an LM270WQ2 panel and an odd brand one has an LM270WQ1, besides, the odd brand ones do not have the "antiglare" sheet (the one that prevents reflections) and from what I have heard, if you get a dead pixel, you will have to eat it with potatoes.

I was thinking of using a couple of 6970s but considering the 400Hz DAC of the nVidia that limits the pixel clock less than the Ati and the possibilities of the Capleat that is capable of offering refresh rates of almost 100Hz and that will probably be my choice, I might have to get a couple of GTX 580 or 590 at the very least.

I know that the Dell with its in sutu 3-year warranty is a much better choice, but in the best case they are 530 lerus, which means a saving of almost 700 euros when buying the 3... which is a risk worth taking in my case considering that I'm going to use them very little... not to mention that I still have to get apart from the three monitors, the graphics cards, a TV of at least 37", a desk, a director's chair, a 3-seater sofa, a fanatec cockpit, a fanatec elite wheel, shiffer, handbrake, clocks, a sequential shifter from frex... and that's a lot of money I don't have, so I have to go little by little and scrape together from where I can.

As for the dead pixel thing... for $60 more they check the monitor before shipping and assure you that it doesn't have any (they can also be bought with a 3-year warranty from Squaretrade, although that's very green) and if there are models that have the layer I think for $30 more.

Thanks Fassou… but I have always followed a maxim... that of not paying the last... back in my Todoreviews days we enjoyed his for a few years and I am not that much of a snob (Who would have thought it, given the setup I want to build, right?) ;D;D

Anyway, like everything, I will have to buy it little by little, so maybe in the end I will get some of these at a lower price on the second hand market, you never know.

But let's face it, money is there to be spent, with 3 powerful modern graphics cards and a good X79 motherboard, we're talking about 3000€ that won't go anywhere, that's clear.

Guys… I'm not willing to spend such a fortune on graphics.
I'm not that much of a sissy for that... a lot of people play with crossfire of 6870 and 6950 and they are very happy. I think the 6970 is my limit.

Let's try to understand each other, the maximum resolution at which these graphics are tested in SLI/Crossfire is 5760x1080 and you want to play at 7680x1440. It's not about whether you're a snob or not, it's about wanting to play at an exaggerated resolution and therefore needing an exaggerated graphics setup. The calculation is very easy: if for a 2560x1440 monitor you need a high-end graphics card, for 3 you need 3 high-end graphics cards. For it to work with two, either both are top-of-the-range, or you play with medium/low details, without filters or with simple or old games. You become a snob when you set out to run that resolution. In fact, getting two 7970s wouldn't be snobbish but poor because the ideal would be 3. Obviously, you can always try with 2 graphics cards and then expand to 3. In your case, it would actually be better economically to set up 3 high-end cards (7870 for example) instead of 2 top-of-the-range (7970). You could even start with 2 and then see if you can afford more, or if 3 are insufficient for your expectations, add a 4th. But be careful, to do this you need a computer that supports it because we're talking about having 3 or 4 PCIE 3.0 slots and a power supply of 1000-1200W. And since it's a lot of money, I repeat that perhaps it's less snobbish to set up 3 monitors at 1080 and forget all this nonsense, given that we don't understand that resolution can penalize results quite a lot. That is, it all depends on your demands, since you say that there are many people very happy with a 6870 Crossfire, but playing with medium or low details and without AA depending on the game (for example, Dirt 3 or COD MW2, which are not very demanding).
