Wow, and how can that be??? Does 1GB of a graphics card really get wasted when doing crossfire?

EDIT: Well, it turns out that both graphics cards have the same amount of vRAM and while one processes one frame the other processes the other frame…:ugly:

So, in that case, I will not need to do any overclocking at all, since the only thing that will limit me will be the vRAM, since it will have more than enough raw power.

A man who 2x 5850 do not add up to 2Gb, does not mean that their performance is not increased a lot (which is not double either). They give a lot of joy ;D, especially when you see in the rankings how your crossfire melts to other cards that cost more than what you have paid for the two. :fuckyea:

Exactly what Nemo says… that's the main motivation to build two 5850s with a good proce and give them hell :ugly:
It's raw power at a reduced price, it's worth it

You see, if I'm not mistaken they will perform together approximately like a 580, although what scares me more is the microshuttering (or whatever it's spelled)!!!

Anyway, it's something that happens mainly in cross and SLI's of more powerful graphics cards, especially in multi-gpu graphics according to results I've seen. I think it's not something especially worrying in a cross of 5850, I haven't read that it happens in those cases.

Lo que mas mal me sabe es que para que pudieran refrigerar bien he tenido que quitar mi Creative X-Fi que iba por PCI (la tengo de hace ya unos 4-5 años y sigue funcionando de maravilla, tendre que buscarme una ahora de las que van por pci-e 1x.

Bueno, no he podido probar mucho, pero me conformo que en el battlefield en calidad alta minimos 80 fps, aunque la media es de unos 110 aproximadamente, si lo pongo a ultra depende de como baja en picado a 50fps, sera por falta de vRAM como comentamos.
