Problems with flash? Crashes? Welcome to Firefox.
I've had more patience than a fool but I'm switching to Chrome NOW.
Haven't you been failing since months?
-
every week they practically release a new version.. that's what happens when you rush.
-
I switched to Iron (Chrome version) a while ago. But occasionally I need to use Firefox. But I use the 64-bit Nightly version which, for being the "tester" version of Firefox, works incredibly better than Firefox itself.
Best regards
-
What really annoys me is that I had the browser controlled and configured, I like to leave it very restrictive with exceptions, but anyway, I'm enjoying Chrome, it's faster and has many configuration possibilities, the problem is that I have to configure everything again.
-
The problem with Firefox is usually the Components, which are often poorly debugged and consume huge amounts of memory, if they don't crash outright.
Another issue is the new Sandbox system of the Adobe Flash plugin for Firefox, which at best, works just okay

I haven't had too many problems with FF, in fact only a couple of them lately and both were related to add-ons: the damn flash and adblockplus.
As for Chrome, everyone says it's faster but in clean installations on Linux, I don't notice a difference. Maybe FF seems slower because it usually loads more completely than Chrome and yes, when there are two or three active add-ons in FF, Chrome loads faster and is more fluid.
As for the "new" versioning policy, I don't think that because of it a less refined product is coming out since each major version hardly brings anything new other than bug and security fixes except for a few exceptions.

Man, the uploads only fall after windowing to the max or windowing and doing beastly preloads (see 1h of 720 video) but the flash fails more than a carnival shotgun and it got stuck for me for 1 minute, it was the last straw.
To hell with (!) today.
-
Just look… I can't remember the last time Firefox crashed on me, I'm serious XD I have Adblock, Webdeveloper, and a couple of dictionaries as add-ons.
-
Well, me too, it seems that something is wrong with the video uploads. Anyway, flash is a pain, I have it blocked with Flashblock and I only activate it when and where I need it. -
I only get annoyed when I open too many tabs (yes, I'm the type that says "I'll open this on Monday and then I'll continue, it was interesting, I'm also interested in that other thing for later, I'll leave it open here too...") and then I get to 8 weeks later on Friday restoring sessions and with infinite tabs... Of course, every now and then it closes by itself and says "Firefox crashed because you went 6 towns over and because the plugin_container was hitting peaks of 100% CPU usage"... It makes sense :wall:
With normal usage, the truth is that it never bothers me. And on the new computer it works great, although I haven't had time to punish it with thousands of tabs yet, but for now it's running like silk... Be careful with pop-ups, malicious ads and things like that, block them to the fullest with firewalls, antivirus and other restrictions, as they are the main sources of infection and slowing down the system.Regards

Curiously, my Flash Player has just been updated to 11.3.300.268, and it seems to be running a bit more freely :ugly:

I haven't deleted it yet but Chrome is the default and when I have the exceptions set up we'll see which one works better. If it's the same I'll stick with Chrome.
-
That's going to be yours because you have it slow. On the XP of the PC3, I also feel sorry for it, even freshly formatted, I copy and restore the bookmarks and there's something wrong there that leaves the computer messed up, it stutters, loading videos is an odyssey, the mouse freezes for a few moments occasionally... a crazy thing, and it has already happened to me with several formattings, but only with XP on the Athlon 64, on the other two with Windows 7 it works perfectly. -
It has been going wrong since I formatted it, and I take very good care of my computer. I admit that I visit some websites that I shouldn't, but I don't click where I shouldn't and I have the browser very restricted, with Chrome I am still making it more restricted and I only allow the websites I visit with just enough to make them work. Recently I ran an Avast scan at startup and the only thing it found were the legitimate companions of 7 :troll: -

That same thing happens to me, sometimes I leave the computer on with Firefox open with many tabs and I go home to my parents for a few days, when I come back sometimes flash has crashed.
But it is true that it crashes more, or at least before it was rare to see those errors and now it happens to me from time to time.

I admit I visit some websites I shouldn't, but I don't click where I shouldn't and I have the browser very restricted, I'm even making Chrome more restricted and only allowing the websites I visit with just what's necessary for them to work. I'm convinced it's because of that, for browsing "suspicious" websites from time to time... the crap accumulates one way or another, no matter how restricted the browser is.
If you have to be clever, there are more subtle and safer ways to search for male pr0n... :troll: xDD -
:troll:
I think not, it was already failing when freshly formatted. Not even an antivirus alert had gone off. If I had had 3 antivirus alerts in 6 months, it's like 3 months without alerts and without going to the 2 trusted websites that have been failing.
Anyway, I'll tell you about it.
By the way, I've always had problems with HL cookies. No matter how clean it is, without a server restart or anything, some topics aren't marked as read and others are marked as read without having visited them. Do you also have this problem? No matter that everything is clean and without a cap, it also happens to me in another forum but in 2 others it works fine.

It works fine for me, on two different computers and with a Windows and a Linux on each one, that is, always with Firefox.

I just had two consecutive crashes of Flash in Firefox. I checked the version and it wasn't the latest even though I have it set to notify me of new updates. I manually updated to see what happens. -
Let me see, I have backed up the image because my Premiere did not uninstall properly, but I have saved the Chrome settings in my Google account. I have not yet installed Chrome, I am giving Firefox a second chance. They have just updated the browser and the latest flash is recent, they may have solved the problem.
