Modest computer for getting around the house
-
Hello everyone
I'm looking for a cheap motherboard, processor and memory for a computer dedicated to browsing, watching movies and little more
these are the components I've looked at
-motherboard- Asus F1A75-M PRO 79 €
-processor- AMD APU A6-3670K 2.7Ghz Socket FM1 83€
-memory- Kingston HyperX DDR3 1866 4 gb 28€, which I think is enough for the use it's going to have
-power supply- Tacens Radix V 550W 39 €I've looked at everything in the Socket FM1 because the integrated graphics according to what I've seen is not bad, and so it's something that saves me, but if there's something similar in AM3 or Intel at a similar price, or less, of course, it changes to the voice of already
I know there are cheaper things that would work for watching movies and browsing, but I've sinned before for being too cheap to get by (nvida 8400gs) and it's also not a question of acquiring a brand new potatoapart from the computer I want to get a 128 GB SSD and I don't know what model, the last thing I read about the Crucial M4 is that it's very reliable, but I'm not very up to date on solid state drives, is there one that offers more performance without sacrificing reliability for this price?
thanks in advance

Hello
For what you want, this equipment is fine, although the power supply is the first thing I would change for something more reliable, like OCZ or Corsair.
Anyway, for just a little more you can put together a pretty warrior machine, for everything you want, even play if you feel like it, with an ASRock P67 Pro3 SE motherboard (~76€) and an i3-2120 (~110€) with the same memory and a power supply like the ones I mentioned.
As for SSDs, the Crucial M4 128Gb is practically the best option right now for performance/reliability.Regards

thanks for answering so quickly,
I hadn't thought about the i3s, I've been looking at some comparisons now and it looks good,
the only thing is the board you told me doesn't have integrated VGA right?thanks again
-
well no, but you could look at something like this
Asrock Z68 Pro3 Gen3 Motherboard - Amazon.es: Asrock
regards
P.D if you search a little you will surely find something better, I picked this one randomly on this page
Intel Z68 Motherboard Series Manufacturing- ASRock Inc. -
Indeed the one I gave you does not have integrated graphics, you can better opt for the ones that the colleague Franziskaner mentions, which are a very good option.

An FM2 would be great for what you're looking for, they're almost out of stock but if you need it urgently it's too bad :ffu:
For a team without big pretensions the A75 Gigabyte is already good, where I would spend more is on the power supply. I would recommend this one but I think the Antec VP450 on Amazon.es is more interesting in terms of price/quality. You could check prices on Amazon, with the trial Premium you avoid paying shipping.
Editing: Although the 128GB M4 has a better price/mega and I usually recommend it over the 64GB one, for you I think 64GB is enough.

Hello again and thank you all for responding
looking at the answers I have a pretty good idea:
Motherboard: Asrock Z68 Pro3 Gen3
CPU: I3-2120
Memory: Kingston HyperX DDR3 1866 PC3-14900 4GB
Hard Drive: Crucial M4 128GB SSD SATA3
Case: NOX NYX USB 3.0 Black, which doesn't seem badPower Supply: I'm not sure if I should get the Antec VP450P, 450W that Obione says, or the Corsair CX500 V2, 500W, I guess both are overkill and there's only an eight euro difference and I don't know which one is better
I would get the 64 GB hard drive, which saves me some money, but it seems a bit scarce, so I'll have to say goodbye to four full-length movies, because for now I won't be putting a big normal one in
thank you very much again, goodbye

I would get the Corsair source without thinking, there is no color…
For the rest, you will have a pretty good computer, even when you get tired of having it for movies you can put it on the desk and it will work as well as any other.Regards

Sylver CX are very normal power supplies, nothing like the other Corsair ranges. Antec has models that are very reliable that you can rely on. While the HCG are not as serious as the TPN, the VP are decent power supplies with quality/price components and the most important protections (you can't ask for pears from an elm tree).
Jarman if you go for an 1155 you could get a B75 motherboard and 1333 memory that you won't notice.
Editing: Are you not convinced to get the 60 M4?
-
I agree with you on that, of course Antec doesn't make bad power supplies and that the CX are Corsair's "modest" range, but you have to take into account that it has one more year of warranty for an insignificant price difference, I think it's worth it, besides the fact that despite being from the most basic range these power supplies are still reliable and have good reviews. If you tell me it's a Silverstone, I still see it as an interesting option, but between Corsair and Antec in that range, I personally go with Corsair. However and as we have been saying, the Antec ones are not bad power supplies at all and in this particular case given the use to which the equipment and its components are going to be destined, there will be no notable difference in choosing one or the other except for the warranty, which is also not decisive.

Hello everyone, to start I want to thank you for your patience, and ask you not to get angry with me for what follows next
I've been looking at more comparisons of this processor and it turns out it's better than any of the others I have, and I've also noticed that for watching movies and browsing either of the two would be fine (a Core 2 Duo, the 6600 @3.1 and a Phenom II x3, the 720@3.6), then I saw that for a little more money, about 100 euros I have the i5 2500k, with the motherboard that has the z68 to overclock it a bit, and with a little more ram, and I would already have a very correct computer
so the last doubts (I hope) are:
-will I need a bigger power supply? it's going to be with the Radeon 6950
-I'll try to overclock it a bit, what cooler do you recommend? is the katana 3 already very outdated? it's the one I have with the x3 and it works pretty wellthat's all, once again, and sorry for my indecision
regards -
With the radeon HD6950 it would be advisable in this case a 650 W power supply, of the Corsair, OCZ type. The i5 2500K is a good processor and the HD6950 is an excellent companion for this CPU.
-
man …. these things are not done :wall:
look at insinuating that we send you to take a sack of shit ;D
it was a joke.
well yes, the 2500k is better, more expensive that is, but it's worth it.
The power supply for now would be good for you, but for the future perhaps it would be interesting to have something more powerful (just in case you get into gaming and you get a power-hungry graphics card or an SLI). After all, a good power supply can last you more years than the rest of the equipment.
The cooler well something like this would be good (note that you have cheaper things and almost as good) you can also try the katana, which you see that it holds up, money you save ;D
regards -
For watching movies, a 2500K is more than enough... but to the point that it would be a waste to buy it just for that, realize for example that it's the one I recently bought to play games and produce sound, so you can get an idea. The price of the 2500K is around 200€.
The katana for cooling it is not a bad option, although I would put something superior. If you finally decide on the i3 (I would do it in your situation and given the use that the PC will have) the katana is great for cooling it, it is still a cool micro in itself.
If you want to put a 6950 we are talking about a powerful graphics card for gaming, it goes far beyond the line of watching movies, so you would be setting up a "gamer" computer, more than anything else. With a simpler graphics card you can go miles, however, it is not at all a bad option to buy it, but I return to the point that if it is not going to go beyond the routine of watching movies it will be a bit "wasted", but no problem, later you put it on the desktop as I mentioned and fly with it.
Getting to the point about the graphics card, just what your colleagues tell you; you will need more power supply, about 650W to be more than enough if you mount the 2500K and the 6950.Regards
-
hello
Sylver, the idea I have now is to change the Phenom, which is the one that currently has the 6950 mounted, for the i5 and use the Core2Duo or the Phenom for what I was originally going to use the i3 for, browsing and watching movies, and so by investing a little more I have renewed the computer that I use for gaming
in the end I got the Corsair TX650 V2 650W, 8 Gb instead of 4 and the i5 instead of the i3 and the rest the same, the heatsink will probably get the Ninja 3 which is bulkier than the Katana
I have already ordered everything except the heatsink, so that I don't end up getting an i7 and that would really be my ruinthanks to everyone for advising me and see you later
goodbye -
Ah well, being so no problem, I thought you were going to leave the i5 for movies… it would be a sin

Your plan clarified, everything perfect, you are going to have a great team. When it arrives and you assemble it, come by here and leave your impressions, and some photos if possible.Regards
-

Saludos
dilo menos y da ejemplo
huy perdón ;D
saludos -
say it less and give an example
oops sorry ;D
greetingsHey, don't sneak away, I posted some photos and impressions on my birthday branch, exactly what I mentioned :D:D
