It might be a good option to buy an AMD platform that performs decently. AMD has competent processors in the mid and low range, and I don't think your friend with the current equipment would be a demanding GAMER, so the idea could be to change platforms. Your friend's processor is very bad, a Dual Core but very bad.

Another option is to buy a decent graphics card first, and a power supply spending about 200€, and... look for a cheap processor like the E2180 second-hand, which can be found for 20-25€. Look on Ebay for example.

The only problem is that I've looked at the motherboard and I think it's not very good for overclocking. I think it allows, maybe I'm wrong, to do an OC of a maximum of 20%. That's little for some processors. The E2180 goes to 2000 but easily goes up to 3000, so you should look for a processor with a higher native speed. If you look at the Bios you'll be able to see if you can modify the FSB or not.

Whatever you mount of graphics will most likely cause a bottleneck, but it's the only option, or you change the graphics and source now or you change the micro and memos card and whatever you do it will be unbalanced until you have everything. As for the 7770 it's not a beast of a graphics card (to be exact it's the low-mid range of ATI, comparable to an old GTX280, only that the gtx 280 was high-end) but to play it's the minimum I would buy, as I told you before from there up what the economy allows you, from there down nothing.
Second hand you can look on the forums or on EBay for a 5870 you can get it for 120/150 with warranty and that is a piece of a graphics card, but you will need a 500/600 watt power supply so because the equipment is for playing I would start with power supply and graphics and in a few months then the micro memos card.

The budget would be 400-450 euros, having the idea that this computer will be for games.

A requirement to be met is that the motherboard must be able to support the following RAM: Kingston KVR1333D3N9/4G 4GB PC3-10600 CL9 240-PIN DIMM (I am indifferent if it is from another brand but compatible with the one it already has).

Pasa de AMD que para jugar no es precisamente la mejor opción. Hace un tiempo estuvo por aquí un forero que preguntó por una configuración barata pero que soportase una gráfica decente para poder jugar en condiciones.
Al final se montó un i3 con una 6870 por unos 350€ más o menos y jugaba a casi todo a full, por lo que te recomiendo que consideres el post de ferelxyx donde te pone una interesante y barata configuración.

Y si os fijais que no hay ventilador especifico para micro es porque al menos ayer, dijo que preferia ahorrar en eso. Intentare convencerle, y creo que lo conseguire, porque los ventiladores de los micros son como echar una moneda al aire si va a jugar. (quiere dejar el oc para unos meses mas adelante)

Sobre ventiladores de 120, admite hasta 8, como cuantos cogerias? otros 2 mas verdad?
