Let me see if I understand it: you want to connect the htpc via PLC to the wifi router. If so, you don't need any switch. You connect the htpc to the first PLC via ethernet. You connect the second PLC to the wifi router via ethernet and that's it. This way it's as if the htpc were connected directly to the wifi router and therefore the rest of the network will see it as such.

Let me see if I got it right: you want to connect the htpc via PLC to the wifi router. If so, you don't need any switch. You connect the htpc to the first PLC by ethernet. No, cobito.
The TV and the HTPC would be connected to the switch, the switch to "PLC 1", "PLC 1" to "PLC 2" and "PLC 2" to the wi-fi router.

The reason for putting the switch before the PLC is to connect the TV and the HTPC and for the connection of the two devices to come out through a single cable to the PLC, which only has one network input.
If it were only the HTPC, it wouldn't be necessary as you indicate, the connection would be direct.

        Best regards

I have my TV via wifi and the HTPC via PLC, but I tried it with a cheap switch from conceptronic to connect the TV, HTPC and PS3 and it worked perfectly, but since I have good wifi, I only have the HTPC connected via cable through the PLC, but it should work for you.

Nemo, what you're saying should work. Make sure the IPs are correct, that's all.

Thank you very much for your help.
@Tecnho, I wish I could connect the TV via Wifi, but it's a Samsung and any one won't work (proven), it has to be the specific one for Samsung and they charge you €50 for the USB adapter... as if they were Apple :troll::troll: That's the reason why I had to make this invention.

@Mystique. The thing about checking the IPs, I suppose they will be assigned automatically as they have been until now, according to the order of connection, or at most fixed in the configuration of each device. Right?
Until now they were all in a range of the same network 192.168.1.1-20 with a common gateway.

              Best regards

yes, check that they are within the same network and point, "you shouldn't have any problems for it to work" (there can always be some problem, that's why I put it in quotes ? )

Mystique, there is no absolute certainty that something will work in computing. Only the theory, or the hope, that it will work ;D;D

I know, and some part always fails. Strangely, it's the last thing you check, start wherever you start ?

I had the same setup as you and it works.

At home before I had the wifi router with 2 cables, one to the tower, another to a PLC, that PLC on the wall of the TV from where a conceptronic switch came out and connected the TV (Panasonic) and an HTPC that doesn't have wifi. And then the laptops by wifi, and everything without any configuration problems.
